The cold reality of trying to have a real conversation with AI
I have to be honest, I love engaging in real conversations on LinkedIn, being true to how I am, no photo filters and what I stand for. That’s why I take the time to like, comment, share my humble insights when I see a post that asks, “What do you think?”
But today, I ran into something that left me a bit bewildered. After sharing my opinion on a post from a first connection where I agreed with them but added some thoughtful reflection, the reply I received back was clearly automated. It was cold. No connection. No acknowledgement. Generic, full of figures, and completely ignored the question I had asked. Just an AI reply and off-track.
SO, I replied logically saying END OF CONVERSATION.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m all for using AI as a tool for learning. But when it comes to dialogue and communication, authenticity matters. If someone invests their time to reply, share thoughts, or give advice, the least we can do is respond with the same level of sincerity. Be true to yourself.
Have you noticed this happening more often?
